IN THE LAND OF ESTE FAMILY

Place: Castle of Mesola, Nature Reserve of Mesola’s forest, boat ride along the Po di Goro, Oasis of Canneviè Porticino (Fe)

 

1° day

Meeting with the guide at the Este Castle of Mesola and presentation of the program. Visit to the internal rooms of the castle to discover the habits of the Este court and then visit to the "Museum of the Forest and the Deer" dedicated to the evolution of this animal and to the environment where it lives. Lunch break (packed lunch or at a restaurant). In the afternoon, the tour continues with the navigation along the Po di Goro to reach its mouth and the “island of love”, on which stands the guardian of the mouths, the lighthouse of Goro. During the navigation it will be possible to see the numerous species of aquatic birds that find here an ideal environment to live and nest.

 

2° day

Meeting with the guide at the Nature Reserve of Mesola’s forest. Walk inside the Reserve, a surviving strip of the ancient forests that once covered the coast along the Adriatic Sea. Here live free and find refuge deers, badgers, foxes and many other animals. Lunch break (packed lunch or at a restaurant). In the afternoon, visit to the Canneviè-Porticino Oasis, an ancient fishing valley, with its two old fishing huts. End of services.

 

The tour package includes points with accessible facilities for users with disabilities such as:

  • bathrooms for disabled persons;
  • lift in the Mesola Castle;
  • footbridges in the Oasis of Canneviè-Porticino;
  • accessible paths in the Mesolas’forest;
  • footbridge for boarding;

 

Note: The Este Castle of Mesola is open all year round, closed on Mondays. The Nature Reserve of Mesola’s forest is open from March to October on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
