THE SALT ROUTE

This is a cycle route through nature that crosses the Po Delta Park, visiting the parts in the both the Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions. From Cervia to Venice for a total of 278 km along an itinerary that joins the traditional Salt Route by sea, which for centuries historic boats have travelled with their cargo of salt from the Cervia salt-works to the Serenissima.

 

Amidst areas and nature reserves of exceptional value, we will skirt the Ravenna Pinewoods, the Mouth of the Bevano River, the Comacchio Valleys and the Veneto Delta, the Volano Oasis, the Mesola Woods, the Venice Lagoon... while enjoying the artistic beauty of the cities of Ravenna, Comacchio, Chioggia and Venice. The itinerary can be divided into six parts.

2.     Ravenna – Marina di Romea (27 km)

3.     Marina di Romea – Comacchio (48 km)

4.     Comacchio – Porto Tolle (73 km)

5.     Porto Tolle – Chioggia (65 km)

6.     Chioggia – Venezia (46 km, di cui 8 di navigazione)
