ON THE DIRT ROADS ALONG THE RIVER SAVIO
A quiet route through the Romagna area, with departure and arrival points in Cervia in order to discover the dirt roads along the river Savio, the longest river in the area, a tributary of the Adriatic Sea.
Starting from Cervia, the route winds along the Milano Marittima pine forest before taking the cycle route that runs along the river, in the natural park bearing the same name, home to a wide variety of birds and animals. Several kilometres of suggestive narrow streets will lead you to Cesena, the ancient homeland of the Malatesta family.
Travelling along the right bank of the river, thanks to dirt roads, single-tracks and secondary roads, you will return towards Cervia passing through the splendid scenery provided by its salt-works, the southern Station of the Po Delta Park and the protected area where flamingos, avocets, herons and black-winged stilts.
