ADRIATIC CYCLE ROUTE

From Ravenna to Kranjska Gora covering an itinerary of almost 700 kilometres (in addition to about 50km travelled by train) that is part of the Eurovelo 8 European cycle route network, running alongside the Adriatic Sea and passing through some beautiful cities of art.

Ravenna, Koper, Trieste, Venice and Padua are just some of the marvellous stops along this journey that has water as its common thread as well as some wonderful natural landscapes as a backdrop such as the Julian Alps, the Karst Plateau and the lagoons of the Po Delta Park.

There are several ways in which this route can be covered; we suggest three week-long trip proposals with daily stages.

The first takes us from Ravenna to Venice along the “Via dei Mercanti (the Merchants’ Route)" for a total of about 350 km; the second from the Serenissima to the splendid Slovenian port of Koper, overlooking the Adriatic Sea (360 km); the third, across the Karst plateau, with another 360 km stretch, to the beautiful Alpine resort of Kranjska Gora, the final destination of our journey.
