"Avan la Vacie" - Arriva la Befana

Comune di Comacchio

The big Epiphany celebrations in Comacchio!

On 5 and 6 January, the streets of Comacchio’s historic centre will be filled with a lively and festive atmosphere, with markets and entertainment shows bringing the town to life.
5 January is packed with events dedicated to the Befana, and one of the most eagerly awaited is ‘La Tamplà’, the traditional parade of the Befanas. This colourful parade winds its way through the heart of Comacchio, featuring costumed participants and, of course, the charming figure of the Befana, who chants the traditional dialect saying “A Van la Vecie”.
On 6 January, the celebrations continue with a full day of entertainment and merriment: children will take centre stage, with sweets and treats being handed out in every corner of the town centre. At 6.00 pm, the Befana will greet all the young visitors from the monumental Trepponti Bridge, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky over Comacchio. Amidst dancing, singing and lights, the day will draw to a close in a riot of colours and sounds, bidding a final farewell to one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of the year.
