Torchlight procession of St. Nicholas and mistletoe

Comune di  Argenta

The Torchlight Procession of St. Nicholas and Mistletoe is sponsored by the Celtic Cultural Association Trigallia and Soelia spa and takes place in downtown Argenta on the occasion of the patron saint.
A large and scenic St. Nicholas, accompanied by three elves and musicians, leads a procession of children.

These follow him with lighted lanterns through the streets of the city center distributing treats in the shoes left on windows and windowsills, invoking the name of St. Nicholas with shouts and stadium choirs! The procession ends at the ice rink where, through an evocative presentation, the Saint calls "his cousin Santa Claus." Together they then distribute gifts to all children present. During the event you can find lucky mistletoe at the stalls, as well as mulled wine, hot chocolate and apple desserts.

Since 2004 the Trigallia association, in synergy with the Parish, the Municipality of Argenta, other associations, local authorities and businesses, has initiated the Feast of St. Nicholas and Mistletoe. An event, that of the celebration of the patron saint of the town of Argenta, which, in its popular expression, was slowly disappearing. Thanks to the industriousness of numerous volunteers and in particular many mothers, it has found new life and great participation from children and citizenship.

Meeting and departure from Via Trieste (under the arcades starting at 4:30 p.m.).
Stalls with typical apple products, hot drinks and mistletoe in Garibaldi Square.
