The Tale of the Precursor. Saint John the Baptist in the works of the Art Gallery

Museo Civico

Travelling along the Via Romea Germanica, an ancient itinerary retracing the stages of the journey undertaken in the 12th century by the monk Albert of Stade towards Rome, you will find the Argenta Ecomuseum, divided into three museum sections and a nature section: the Museum of the Valleys, the Museum of the Land Reclamation, the Civic Museum and the Campotto Oasis, an enchanted place to visit. The Argenta Municipal Museum is located inside the Church of San Domenico.
The building is a fine example of 15th-century architecture with exposed brickwork inspired by Rossetti models, and still preserves the beautiful bell tower with spire in polychrome terracotta tiles.
The church was owned by the Confraternity of the White Battuti, who in 1495 donated it to the Dominican friars who had just settled in the city.
