In the realm of pink | MUSA meets Nature, Biodiversity and Salt

Salina di Cervia

MUSA – The Salt Museum is hosting guides from the Cervia Salt Pans Visitor Centre to reveal to visitors of all ages the secrets of the salt pans relating to biodiversity, and how salt production affects the life of the flora and fauna that inhabit the nature reserve.

Experts from the Cervia Salt Pan Visitor Centre guide the public on a journey through the salt pan oasis: how salt is formed – from the wind to the brine and on to the crystals – why the water sometimes turns pink, which plants and animals inhabit it, and how salt production is linked to life cycles, migrations and nesting. An event to understand how every grain of salt tells a story of balance, biodiversity and landscape.
