On Saturdays and Sundays, it is possible to go on guided tours of the museum complex and St Mary's Church. Pomposa Abbey, a masterpiece of Romanesque art dating back to the 6th/7th centuries, can be seen in the distance with its soaring 48-metre high bell tower. It welcomed illustrious figures of the time, including Guido d'Arezzo, the monk who invented musical composition based on the seven-note system. In the St. Mary’s Church, you can admire a cycle of frescoes inspired by Giotto as well as the beautiful mosaic floor. On the opposite side are the Cloister, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Refectory, the Chapter House and the Pomposian Museum.
